Description

Ishtopadesh (इष्टोपदेश) is a concise yet powerful Jain scripture written by Acharya Pujyapada (also known as Devanandi) around the 5th or 6th century CE. It consists of only 50 verses (Shlokas), making it one of the most popular texts for daily recitation and memorization. The word is a combination of Ishta (beneficial/desired) and Upadesh (instruction), meaning "Instruction for the Benefit of the Soul." Key Features The Author: Acharya Pujyapada was a master of grammar, medicine, and spiritual science. His clarity of thought is reflected in the precise language of this text.
