Description

चलते-फिरते सिद्धों से गुरु (Chalte-Phirte Siddhon Se Guru) is another profound and poetic work by Pandit Ratanchand Bharill. The title itself is a beautiful metaphor for the Digambara Jain Monks (Munis). In Jainism, a 'Siddha' is a liberated soul without a body. Bharill Ji describes true Jain Munis as "Siddhas with bodies" because their internal state of bliss and detachment mirrors that of the liberated souls. Key Themes of the Book: The Glory of Jain Monks: It describes the 28 primary attributes (Moolgunas) of a Digambara monk, not just as rules, but as a reflection of their deep internal peace. Walking Siddhas: The author explains that while we cannot see the Siddhas in the Siddhashila, we can see their living example in the form of Munis who have no possessions (Aparigraha) and no attachments. The Internal State: The book emphasizes that a Muni's greatness is not just in his external appearance (nakedness, eating once a day, etc.), but in his constant absorption in the soul (Atma-Ramanta). Inspiration for Seekers: By looking at such "walking gurus," a layperson (Shravak) gains the confidence that liberation is possible and that the path is practical and achievable.
